We have solved routing tasks together with suppliers like JCI, FAURECIA, RÜTGERS, etc). Our cells are providing parts within the start-up phase of project leading over into mass production.

Later car models require a lot of variations lead to smaller volumes requiring high flexible plants to achieve an acceptable load. Carat solutions include smart routing tools which empower the entire plant.

Car doors need alloy profiles to be shaped and finished. This application require high knowledge of waste deposal and cell configuration. Carat provided a lot of solutions within this profile.

The waterjet is since 20 years a reliable process to trim interior and acoustic products. The waterjet provides a quick and clear cut with temperatur load to the products. New material composites in combination with more and more diffecult shape lead to trim challenges which can’t be resolved by standard die cut tools.

Waterjet cutting is mass production application an many areas when variations increased and flexible solution is required.
Surfaces: Surface processes and delashing
Surface requirements in many applications need expierience in the choice of tools and parameters. FAMOS robotic, the offline-programming system, is an important factor to achieve the required results.
Grinding with robots
Applying band grinders lead to very good and constant results. Carat utilises a modular concept of the plants, the grip units and all feeding elements to enable a most flexible and economic production.
Polishing with robots
Polishing and brushing with robots provide sophisticated surfaces. The quality of this surface can be improved significantly by a polishing process. However a high level of experience is required to get this objective achieved.
Brushing with robots
Especially within the sanitary-fittings industry the brushing process is established as an efficient tool to achieve a high-level surface finish, no matter whether the products material is steel or brass.
Deburring with robots
Nearly all manufacturing processes for metal products lead to appearance of flush. The robot is the ideal tool to eliminate these flush economically.
Software
Teaching robot trajectories for precise processes can be diffecult and time-consuming. To optimise the process within the setup phase takes both capacity from the cell as from the programmer. This cuts down the availability of the plant signifaícantly.

Foundry
Deflashing, routing, sewing etc. are processes which can be automised by robots in the foundry environment. All this processes can be linked. carat has supplied several of those solutions to the foundry industry.

Product tolerances can be eliminated using measuring systems. The measuring system send it’s information to the program leading to an immediate adjustment of the parameters. Thus products with tolerances can be processed easily.
Sensors
The requirements of production develops a need of intelligent robot cells. These cells get equipped with measuring systems and sensors provinding excatly the information for the robot to do a better job. The wear of tools can be measured and compensated as well as tolerances of the product.

Image processing systems examine the processed product and forward the information to the control to enable the robot to decide the next step.
