Since the early 1970s Railway vehicles have been using remote control systems. Cattron-Theimeg was one of the first companies to develop and install remote control systems for locomotives and other track-bound vehicles. Until today Cattron-Theimeg sets standards for the safety and the functionality of these radio remote control systems. Due to the exceptional know-how and vast experience of Catttron-Theimeg´s engineers with regard to the safety aspects of locomotive remote controls, the company has been accredited by the Federal Railways Authorities of Germany as a development company for safety applications.

MATERIAL HANDLING
TC100 HANDY
The TC100 HANDY combines reliability and convenience by means of intelligent technology and ergonomic design. The transmitter can easily be operated single-handed.

Standard Model:
  • 6 dual pressure pushbuttons with perceptible pressure point

The TC100 HANDY is an inexpensive alternative to cable-based crane controls. Innovative technology permits master/slave operation or tandem operation.

Latest synthesizer technology enables the operator to set or adjust frequencies by means of DIP-switches. A carrying bag with or without a side window is available.

EXCALIBUR
With the latest ct24-technology and innovative ergonomics for controlling all types of cranes and hoists anywhere in the world.
Two transmitter housing sizes are available; with 6 or 8 and 10 or 12 pushbuttons.

The TC100 MINI combines innovative technology with perfect design. The transmitter is robust and ergonomic in design.

Synthesizing technology and tandem operation are integral components of the TC100 MINI-technology and optionally available. In addition to the basic version the TC100 MINI is available with customized transmitter designs.

The transmitter is supplied with a cushioned waist belt or as option with a user-friendly body harness.
 

TC200 MINI
The TC200 radio remote control family of Cattron-Theimeg features a modular design. This module system enables all available components to be combined to form customized solutions.

  • 3 pushbuttons

The robust transmitter with its ergonomic design is capable of being used in a wide range of applications. It is supplied with a cushioned waist belt which offers maximum comfort. A body harness is also available upon request.

The transmission power of 10-500 mW allows maximal capacity.

The battery power is adequate for at least one shift with 80% ED. The TC200 MINI transmitters are supplied with a plug-in charger unit. A processor-controlled charger unit is as option available for a longer battery life and a rapid recharging cycle.

In addition to the basic version the TC200 MINI is available with customized transmitter designs.

TH-EC/40
This fail-safe radio remote control system is the ideal solution for highly customized applications. The transmitter can transmit up to 40 digital commands and can be equipped with up to 3 joysticks with maximum 6 steps. On the receiver side, up to 48 digital or analogue output channels are available.

  • 1 single-axis joystick for 1 four-step drive
  • 1 dual-axis joystick for 2 four-step drives

In order to suit many applications the transmitter output power can be selected between 10 and 500 mW. The system can also be equipped with exclusive, co-ordinated frequencies where required or requested by customers.

TH-EC/40 can optionally be supplied with a TDMA mode. This mode allows the economical use of the frequency spectrum with up to 7 systems simultaneously operating on the same frequency.

As a carrying aid the transmitter is supplied with a cushioned waist belt, a comfortable body harness is also available.
 

RAILWAY SYSTEMS
TH-EC/LO-SFS
The remote control system TH-EC/LO is recommended for use in all types of locomotives and is compliant with the highest required safety standards SIL3 (EN 50128), SIL3 (EN 50129) and SIL3 (EN 61508) as well as the European Standard EN 50239 »Radio remote control system for traction vehicles and freight traffic«.

The transmitter of the remote control family TH-EC/LO with its ergonomic design is lightweight and easy to operate.

The transmitter TH-EC/LO-SFS is fitted with a single axis joystick. Up to 6 throttel/brake command positions are available. The first and the last step can selectively be set as a momentary or maintianed step.
The order of the switches on the operating panel allows for single-handed operation.

Remote Control for Shunting Vehicles.

The radio control system TH-EC40/LO has been especially developed and manufactured for low speed shunting vehicles used at loading stations with low safety requirements.
The TH-EC40/LO does not match the safety requirements according EN 50239.

The transmitter TH-EC/LO-VFS is fitted with a single axis joystick. The order of the switches on the operating panel allows for single-handed operation.

Standard Model:
  • 1 key switch
  • 1 mushroom-head switch for stop-function
  • 1 single axis joystick, 5-step for throttle-/ brake commands
  • 9 additional momentary or maintained switches
  • 1 buzzer - warning signal

The transmitter housing conforms to protection class IP65. As standard the system is fitted with a high-power NiCd battery, the capacity is sufficient for 8hour operation.

TH-AMR
The TH-AMR terminal is a universal locomotive radio unit for bi-directional data communication. The applications range from fully automatic hump yard (ADT) operations to master/slave locomotive (MTT) operations. The communication of TH-AMR is remote controlled so that no wiring is necessary.

The universal locomotive radio unit TH-AMR is a fully redundant radio control with the immediate evaluation of the received signal.

The transmission part has a dual processing feature, which sends out the signal alternately.

The dual layout of the processor has three advantages:
  • Increased availability of the terminal
  • Increased safety of receiver signal
  • Increased range
 
 
DATA-TRANSMISSION
 
IFD 3230
The intelligent data transmission radio system IFD 3230 can be used for point-to-point or point-to-multipoint communication applications.

The IFD 3230 consists of a base station and up to 15 mobile units. The data sent from the base station is received by all the mobile units, each automatically verifying the data and processing if applicable.

This wireless data transmission system has been used successfully in marshalling yards, where the pushing and shunting of locomotives is not automated, but is manually done by the locomotive operator who receives from the signal box the desired speed, which is displayed on his mobile unit.

HST 100
The high speed HST-100 offers a simple and quick data communication link to terminals or serial interfaces, in any environment where conditions are too difficult for a cable connection.

The HST-100 consists of two radio modems that establish a wireless point-to-point link.
