MOTOMAN multi-robot-technology

Cooperating robots: More than 10 years of "multi-robot-technology”

A single NX100 controller easily handles multiple tasks, with unmatched ability to coordinate up to four manipulators (up to 36 axes, including robots and external axes). MOTOMAN extends its more than 10 years of leadership in "multiple-robot technology". With its revolutionary technology launched in 1993, MOTOMAN established itself as the market leader in the multiple robot segment.
The benefits for the users are innovative automation solutions, reduced cycle times, improvements in quality and efficiency, lower investment costs, minimized programming requirements, and high-flexible production systems. MOTOMAN is the trendsetter in the multiple robot technology with more than 1,000 installed multi-robot systems in Germany..

..

Definition ”multi-robot-technology” = cooperating robots

Multi-robot-technology is the ability to interpolate multiple manipulators with one (or more) controller in building variable groups and synchronize these with different interpolation methods.

Multi-robot-concepts are used for welding Symmetric parts, Parts with high number of seems and/or with several circumferential seems as well as parts critical to thermal distortion (e.g. aluminium workpieces)

Thus the benefits of Motoman's Multiple-robot control technology are obvious:

  • everything is managed by a single NX100 controller

  • Operating in a minimum of space with the world's first robots specifically designed for arc welding - the EA Series

  • Full synchronized and independent coordination of four robots with a horizontal servo axis

  • A single NX100 controller easily handles multiple tasks, with unmatched ability to coordinate up to four manipulators (up to 36 axes, including robots and external axes)

  • Easy to restart after an emergency stop or voltage drop

  • The "Arc Recovery function" provides automatic recovery after a breakdown
