DENSO

Introducing the new additions to its robotics SCARA Line-up

Denso announces the availability of its new line of horizontally articulated robots, models HS-E and HM-E, which include numerous feature improvements.

The move reflects a dramatic shift in focus and design as a response to growing industry demand for more efficient and productive robots featuring horizontal articulation.

The units are designed for use in small assembly environments. Specific applications include medical/pharmaceutical, telecom, food and beverage, automotive and consumer electronics.

“The development of these revolutionary robots should serve notice that DENSO is a dynamic and committed player in the industry,” says Fran Labun, DENSO Robotics Division senior manager.

The HM Series offers an additional maximum reach of 1000mm while the HS Series offers an additional minimum reach of 350mm. Numerous variations include dust and splash proof type (IP65 rating) and clean type (class 10). The HS-E models will be ready for shipping on May 1 and the HM-E will be available on July 1.

These speedier units will feature standard cycle times of 0.35 seconds for the HS 350mm and 450mm units and 0.29 seconds for the HM 600mm and 700mm models. In comparison to DENSO’s conventional D-Series models, these units offer greater power with 2.6 times the applicable maximum moment of inertia. Additional features include improved controller function to include applications for field networks (Devicenet, Profibus, CC Link, etc.), an RS-232C board and an encoder counter board for conveyer tracking.
