The
true parallel motion of the jaws is achieved through a
toggle mechanism linking the double acting piston to
the jaws. The jaws remain synchronous and parallel
through the range of motion of the piston. The grip
force can be adjusted by varying the air pressure.
Parallel grippers offer more consistent gripping force
throughout the stroke of the jaws than do angular
grippers.
Applications
:
The 3-Jaw
Parallel Gripper is ideal for applications requiring
three points of contact, positive pick and place, and
the flexibility of stroke. It offers self-centering of
parts and a high clamping force for rapid part
transfer and part gripping during grinding or
de-burring, etc.
The 2-Jaw
Parallel Gripper was developed for general purpose
use. It is ideal for applications requiring two points
of contact, positive pick and place and a high
clamping force for rapid part transfer.
Features
Minimum
Downtime
The grippers are field repairable for minimum
downtime. Most replacement parts are available the
same day, to be shipped from our facility.
Life
Expectancy
The Square Jaw Brute Gripper has been designed to
provide long life with trouble free operation. Beta
test site applications have achieved over 10 million
cycles with minimal wear. Actual life cycle of the
gripper may vary, depending on the application,
maintenance and environment.
Adapter
Plates
Adapter plates are available for any robot model.
Customer
Interface Mounting
The
customer interface mounting holes are metric. See
Gripper Catalog for model specific sizes and
locations.
Position
Sensing
The Standard Magnetic Piston Position Sensing enables
midstroke signaling and exact end of stroke sensing. A
sensor can be positioned anywhere in any of the
standard 6 dovetail slots and is locked into position
with an integral screw. Multiple sensors can be
installed in one or more of the dovetails.
