The new facility triples the existing size of the U.S. laser diode production facility. “Our expansion involved substantial investment in facilities, MOCVD, wafer fabrication and packaging equipment, as well as in developing a highly skilled workforce,” said Albert Tu, President and CEO of Semco Laser Technology. “Our new facility, equipment and manpower provides the capacity and capability to meet increasing demand through more production capacity, high production yield, and faster order fulfillment time.”

Semco Laser Technology is now fully operational in its state of the art 11,000 square foot cleanroom facility located in the City of California for MOCVD crystal growth, wafer fabrication, and component packaging. In order to expand Semco’s ability to serve the high volume manufacturing market, a new 70,000 square foot packaging and assembly plant is recently completed in mainland China in the City of Zhongshan, Guangdong Province. The production plant is now in full production for optoelectronic component packaging.
