For perhaps the first time, a company has succeeded to develop a machine which applied the flow finishing method to the finishing of a tiny hole of ferrule used for connector parts for optical communications. Nach-Fujikoshi introduces this technology under the name "Jet Finisher".

This machine meets the demand for high precise and high efficient production of parts for optical communications, and it halved production costs compared to the previous wire wrap method. It can also be used as a washer by changing the fluid. Other than ferrule, it can be used for high precise surface finishing of various tiny or complicated parts.

Features of the new Jet finisher system:

  • Improved productivity and reduced costs of hole finishing process.

  • Finishing time reduced from 1-2 minutes / pc for the previous wire wrap method to shortened to 7 seconds / pc.

  • Inexpensive soluble cutting oil and abrasive grains are used. Exchange has only to be done once a day. The running cost are reduced to one-tenth of ones of the wire wrap method.

Cut back of a chamfering process of hole entrance:
Hole finishing and chamfering is done at the same time. Previous two processes were shortened to one process.

Improved quality of washing:
The system can be used as a washer by replacing the cutting fluid by cleaning fluid. Stable washing quality is achieved compared to the vacuum water pickup method or the high pressure water flow method.

Less manpower requested through higher automation and workability improvement:
The process is fully automated from the feed of work to the discharge into a pallet after finishing.

Broad work materials:
Various types of ceramics, metal, glass, and plastic.

Main specifications:

  • Height of finishing center 1,000 mm

  • Floor space 1,180 x 1,100 mm

  • Weight of the machine 1,500 kg

  • Optional :Auto-loader, work drying equipment, pallet lineup and discharge equipment etc...

Market: Optical communications.

Price: 20 million yen (auto-loader and drying equipment included)
