Nexen offers an advanced technology that revolutionizes linear motion.

The Roller Pinion System (RPS) provides zero backlash, very high positional accuracy, unlimited length, very high speeds, 99% efficiency, high rigidity, low noise, low maintenance, corrosion resistance, and long life.
This opens up new design possibilities and provides the capability to achieve much higher levels of performance in machine designs.

Product Line Up

Linear Drive System (RPS)
RPS stands for Roller Pinion System, a revolutionary linear drive system that consists of a pinion with bearing supported rollers, which meshes with a unique tooth profile. At all times two rollers are in contact with opposing tooth faces, which results in zero backlash and a very constant meshing pitch circle. The system can run at high speed over any distance with no cumulative error.

FEATURES:
• Accuracy: 20µ
• Repeatability: 10µ
• Backlash: < 3.2µ
• High efficiency: up to 99%
• Low noise
• High speed: up to 11m/s

Rotary Drive System (RGS)
Nexen offers an advanced new technology that revolutionizes rotary motion. The Roller Pinion Gear system (RPG) provides zero backlash, very high positional accuracy, 99% efficiency, high rigidity, low maintenance, corrosion resistance, and long life. This opens up new design possibilities and provides the capability to achieve much higher levels of performance in machine designs.

The RPG system features an innovative ring gear and roller pinion technology that provides extremely accurate positioning. The Roller Pinion Gear system also offers backlash-free performance in both directions by maintaining opposing contact with two or more teeth at all times.

The RPG system maintains accurate positioning at peripheral speeds as high as 11 m/sec (36.1 ft/sec). Even at these speeds, the extremely-low friction design does not create heat or wear on components.

Nexen can provide solid ring gears up to one meter in diameter. Ring gears larger than this become segmented and can be virtually any diameter. Arc segments can also be provided.

Profile Guide Rail Brakes
Nexen’s RB Series of linear profile guide rail brakes uses spring force to secure the load in holding applications. They offer superior response time and high forces for e-stop and holding in power-off situations. The RB brake clamps directly onto the sides of the guide rail to provide positive braking and holding in all axes. These profile rail brakes hold position accurately, eliminating drive train backlash and elasticity.

Fits profile guide rail sizes 15, 20, 30, 25, 35, and 45
Holding forces up to 2600N

Nexen’s RBE model Electric Rail Brake provides a new level of performance and reliability for electric clamping on profile guide rails with fast response times, low backlash and on-board diagnostics. Nexen’s mechatronic technology combines the latest electronic and mechanical components, providing the best combination of features available in electric rail brakes today.

Mechanical Torque Limiters
The trend in industry is to design and incorporate more automation into production processes. Machines are becoming more accurate, requiring a higher degree of precision.
Machine downtime in an automated production environment is very costly. Broken components, costly technicians, and long lead times for custom components can make the difference between operating profitably or not. Nexen's Mechanical Torque Limiter will isolate the driving from the driven elements within a matter of milliseconds.

Single-Position Re-engagement
  • After the overload has been removed, the coupling will re-engage precisely 360 from the original disengaged position.
  • Overload signal is accomplished with a mechanical switch or proximity sensor.

Multi-Position Re-engagement

  • Coupling re-engages at multiple set angular intervals.
  • Immediate availability of the machine as soon as the overload has been removed.
  • Overload signal is accomplished with a mechanical switch or proximity sensor.

Full Disengagement

  • Permanent separation of drive and driven face in event of a torque overload.
  • Coupling can be re-engaged manually.
