VOSS 2S Cutting Ring Couplings
The 2S cutting ring couplings are designed to meet the requirements for easy
assembly while offering high level of operating safety. The special cutting
ring geometry produces firm seating of the cutting ring with the first,
strong cutting edge, while the following second cutting edge provides for
additional safety.
The VOSS spring effect with added safety elastically compensates all
settling phenomenon of the materials.
VOSS 2S cutting ring couplings are especially well-suited for use under
higher vibration strains and flexural fatigue loads.

VOSS ES-4 cutting ring couplings
With ES-4, VOSS Fluid offers a soft seal coupling that is both reliable and
economical.
ES-4 provides the greatest possible security against leaks in the case of
sudden pressure increases and vibrations.
With ES-4 the gap between the normal 2S cutting ring coupling and the 10°
flared coupling or the weld nipple coupling is filled.
ES-4, the cutting ring coupling with 4-fold benefits:
- The basis is the proven VOSS 2S cutting ring
- Additional precision sealing with soft sealing elements of FPM / FKM
(e. g. Viton®, registered trademark of DuPont) in the secondary area

VOSS DKO Taper Couplings
VOSS taper couplings are based on the proven principle of the 24° taper
with an O-ring. This principle offers an added safety bonus, even with high
dynamic loads and vibrations.
VOSS taper couplings can be easily and reliably assembled. Due to their
dimensional equivalence, they can easily also be installed in existing
hydraulic tubing where previously cutting ring couplings with adjustable
directions were mounted.
The main reason for their increasing use are precision sealing, high
pressure resistance, the simple, fast assembly and the mechanical
robustness.
VOSS DKO couplings are supplied as standard with a FKM soft gasket.

VOSS BV-10 Flared Couplings
VOSS flared couplings prove their great reliability under high loads
such as sudden pressure increases, vibrations and reversed bending stress.
The holding function is fulfilled with the combined flare/clamping ring
principle. The 10° flared angle prevents overstretching of the tube -
especially with large tube wall thicknesses.
The sealing function on the connecting piece is assumed by the proven
sealing head of the flared cone. On the tube connection side the sealing
function is achieved with a very high surface pressure and the supporting
labyrinth seal effect on the cone surface.
VOSS BV-10 flared couplings are simple and easy to assemble and offer
more reliable operation than welded connections.

VOSSFormSQR Tube Couplings
The new VOSSForm SQR tube coupling system meets the main
requirements for hydraulic connections such as:
- Safety, as the most important aspect.
- Quality, without which permanent freedom from leaks is not possible.
- Profitability, only an economical coupling can prevail on the
market.
With its innovative design, VOSSFormSQR is based on the proven
VOSS design principles.
A contour is formed on at the end of a standard hydraulic tube in the
VOSS pre-assembly machine. When a soft seal in the secondary area and the
special SQR nut are added, a simple, high-quality connection for maximum
loads and safety results.

Both cutting ring systems can be fitted on VOSS standard pre-assembly
devices (Note: Typical applications are the chemical industry, shipbuilding,

requirements for corrosion resistance and a long service life.

VOSS Flanges
In addition to the tube couplings for the various
installation criteria, flanges are frequently used in hydraulic systems,
preferably with medium-range and larger dimensions. Different flange
versions are available to enable compliance with the different requirements:

VOSS ZAKO Flanges
VOSS flange connections of the ZAKO system are designed for applications
with the highest loads and especially demanding requirements for safety.
They are based on the 10° flare principle and are available both in an SAE
design and with a square shape. The product line encompasses the tube range
from 16 to 120 mm.
To assemble the ZAKO flange connection, the ZAKO ring is pressed into the
end of the tube. Various pre-assembly devices are available for this
purpose.
The sealing function for the flange connection surface is assumed by the
ZAKO ring plate with its integrated O-ring. On the tube side, the same
sealing effect takes place as with the BV-10 flared cone by means of surface
pressure and the labyrinth principle.
VOSS ZAKO flanges are designed for 250/400 bar nominal pressure and
realise a 4-fold safety margin.

VOSS Flange Couplings with Square Flange Connectionn
The VOSS flange couplings with a square flange connection
are characterized by particularly compact outside dimensions. They are
supplied in straight and elbow designs. The product range consists of the
outside tube diameters from 10 to 38 mm.
Flange sealing is carried out with an elastic round sealing ring
(O-ring), and the mounting connection with cheese head screws. The flange
connections are designed for the connection hole patterns of leading pump
manufacturers.

VOSS SAE Flange Couplings with Cutting-Ring Connection
The SAE flange couplings are supplied in standard and
high-pressure designs with hole patterns in accordance with SAE J 518 or ISO
6162. The device-side connection is carried out with 2 flange halves secured
with 4 cheese head screws. In contrast to the male threads, the screws can
be mounted on the couplings with small tools and reduced force. The
tube-side connection can be produced with cutting rings or BV-10 flared
couplings.
A particular advantage of the SAE flange couplings with an elbow design
is their directional adjustability. However, the accessibility of the
mounting screws must be ensured when installing the tube.

VOSS SAE Flange Couplings with Welded Connectionn
With the SAE flanges, the tubes in the small to medium
dimensional range are primarily of the cutting-ring design.
However, the larger tubes are frequently welded. VOSS also offers a
complete product line for this purpose. However, for cost reasons the
designing engineer should always make sure the use of VOSS ZAKO flanges
isn't a better alternative first.
The production of the welded connection requires both corresponding
specially-trained personnel and necessitates anticorrosion treatment.

VOSS Non-return Valves
VOSS Non-return valves are available in a broad range of variants. For
example, as non-return valves for tube installation, plug-in cartridges with
a block design or as loose installation sets for use in valves or blocks.
All variants convince with the flow-promoting design and the chambered
soft seal on the taper. This enables advantageous flow rates and leak-free
cut-off.

VOSS Line-Break Protection
Safety in a compact space
Machines with hydraulic drives used for lifting loads must be equipped
with line-break protection devices. This is understandable, as otherwise a
pressure drop in the hydraulic system would lead to unchecked lowering of
the load. In the past, this safety component was installed in the hydraulic
system as an additional component.
Typical applications for this safety component include mobile work
machines such as forklift trucks, elevating platforms, excavators, wheel
bearings etc. VOSS produces the line-break protection devices in four
standard connection sizes (G 1/4, G 3/8, G 1/2 and G 3/4). The threaded
studs comply with shape E, DIN 3852 Part 11.

VOSS Shuttle Valves
VOSS shuttle valves are used as automatic gates within a closed hydraulic
circulation system. With two blockable inlet openings and on outlet opening,
the shuttle valve connects the connection A or B to the connection C of the
valve depending on the existing pressure oil supply. The second side of the
valve is blocked by pressure loading by means of a ball or a soft sealing
sliding sleeve. The soft sealing variant can also be used in applications
requiring a pressure holding function.
VOSS shuttle valves are available in two designs
- Variant with ball seat (metallic-sealing)
- Variant with sliding sleeve (soft-sealing)

Voss Pre-assembly Devices
|

|
Type 80N2
The Type 80N2 manual pre-assembly device consists of a hand-pump
pressure unit with a working piston and a pushing head. For assembly, one
tool set is required per tube outside diameter. The assembly is carried out
with pumping movements of the assembly lever. The Type 80N2 assembly device
also supports the correct pre-assembly result with a pressure gauge.
The following can be pre-assembled:
- VOSS ES-4 cutting rings for a 6 - 42 mm outside tube diameter
- VOSS 2S cutting rings for a 6 - 42 mm outside tube diameter
- VOSS BV-10 flared cones for a 6 - 42 mm outside tube diameter
- All other cutting rings in accordance with the valid standards (DIN
EN ISO 8434-1)

Type 85
With the Type 85 pre-assembly device, ZAKO rings of the ZAKO flared flanges
for an outside tube diameter from 38 to 120 mm can be pre-assembled.
Assembly is simple and fast. The pre-assembly process is carried out
electrohydraulically with high precision and ensures reliably prepared
flanged connections. The Type 85 pre-assembly device consists of the
assembly cylinder with a pre-flanged assembly head and a separate
electrohydraulic pump unit. The maximum operating pressure is 700 bar - a
continuous operating pressure of 560 bar is permissible. For pre-assembly,
one clamping jaw is required per tube outside diameter.

Type 86 E / 86 P
The VOSS Type 86 E pre-assembly device is a further development of the
Type 80N2 manual pre-assembly device. The device is driven with an
electrohydraulic unit. The pre-assembly process is triggered with a hand
switch. Actuation with a foot switch is also possible on request.
With the VOSS Type 86 E pre-assembly device, 10° flared cones and cutting
rings can be assembled even more quickly.
As an alternative to the electrohydraulic drive, a drive with a pneumatic
pump is also possible (Type 86 P). The Type 86 P requires a compressed-air
connection of 3 to 8 bar and has an air requirement of approx. 560 l/min.

Type 90
With the Type 90 pre-assembly device, 2S cutting
rings, ES-4 cutting rings, 10° flared cones and ZAKO rings can be simply and
reliably pre-assembled. The respectively required assembly pressure is set
and controlled with an electronic pressure switch. The setting values (guide
values) for the individual cutting rings are specified in the pressure table
on the device.
The Type 90 pre-assembly device can be operated wherever an electrical
connection with 400 V/50 Hz is available.

Type 100
The VOSS pre-assembly machine VOSSForm 100 ensures time-saving,
controlled production of the VOSSFormSQR tube profile. The monitored process
in conjunction with optimum tube guidance makes defective forming as a
result of incorrect operation virtually impossible. Simple tool changes
considerably contribute to reducing processing times. The clamping jaws and
forming head can be replaced without tools. The clear marking of both tools
prevents assembly errors due to incorrect combinations of tools and tube
dimensions.
The Type 100 pre-assembly device can be operated wherever an electrical
connection with 400 V AC/16 A/50 Hz/4.0 kW is available. The device is
equipped with a forming force of 100 t and has a weight of approx. 450 kg.

Type 120
With the Type 120 pre-assembly device, the ZAKO rings of the ZAKO flared
flanges for an outside tube diameter from 50 to 120 mm can be pre-assembled.
Assembly is simple and fast. The pre-assembly process is carried out
electrohydraulically with high precision and ensures reliably prepared
flanged connections.
The Type 120 pre-assembly device can be operated wherever an electrical
connection with 400 V AC/16 A/50 Hz/2.7 kW is available. To connect the
machine, a 3.5 m long cable with a 5-pin CEE plug is provided.
