frame
Conceived to meet any requirements of the home, office and contract
sector, the seats of the Frame collection have been developed by
Alias thanks to the non conventional use of a material that has a
great success in interior design: coloured PVC-coated polyester
mesh. The typical structure, made of extruded aluminium sections and
pressure die-cast elements, comes in various finishes. High-frame
and Bigframe (stacking) are available with or without armrests, as
well as Longframe and Armframe. Both versions are also available for
Meetingframe, with four-star base, Rollingframe, with five-star base
on castors, and Floatingframe, the comfortable beam seating system.

frametable
Perfect for any interior or building, whether public
or private, historical or modern, the tables of the Frame collection feature
essential design and great formal lightness. Available in the fixed version
with or without cable channels, they have a bearing structure in die-cast
aluminium and rectangular tops in different sizes made of tempered glass, or
of glass sandwich, anodised aluminium alloy, laminate, or several wood
veneers. Frametable, in its original folding version, is light-weight and
yet very steady; its folding mechanism gives the table an unusual
aesthetical value.

laleggera
ilvolo
The secret of the lightness of this stacking, minimal
chair that has won many prizes is to be found in the wood: the internal
support is in injected polyurethane foam, just like in the wings of gliders.
The tables, benches, armrest, armchair, dormeuse and stools are just as
light, and like the chairs, they have a solid wooden structure, veneered in
a range of wood types, or are matt stove enamelled, in 14 shades. Thanks to
their lightness and the fact that they can be stacked, the items in this
collection, which can be combined in identical or mixed finishes, are easy
to handle and are also highly suitable for communal or work areas.

layout
The unusual organic shape of the new Alias storage
system is the result of original research into the expressive possibilities
of a very well-known material, extruded aluminium. The result is an
innovatively styled version of an item of furniture common in both the home
and the office - the storage unit. The vertical structure and hinged doors
are made from extruded aluminium profiles with anodised or various dull
paint finishes. The internal shelves are in MDF. Used as a central island or
as a room divider, this complex system can be adapted to serve any purpose.
Unconventional and decorative in shape, it is practical and rational to use
and the variety of
heights available makes it extremely flexible.

SEC
This modular component system has a modular frame made from
extruded aluminium profiles. All the components in steel,
glass or methacrylate are available in 4 heights (160, 255,
350 and 540 mm), 3 lengths (500, 750 1000 mm), and 3 widths
(300, 450, and 560 mm). This variety means the system can be
put together in an infinite variety of combinations. SEC can
be used to make the tiniest bedside table or the largest
wall storage unit that can be used as a room separator, or
allow light to pass through if it includes coloured
methacrylate panels. The catalogue shows various types of
SEC compositions: trolleys, bookcases (open or with
drawers), horizontal sideboards and towers.

spaghetti
A symbolic seat in the history of Alias
design, it is the most imitated chair and
the first Alias chair to appear in the MoMA
collection of New York. It is even more
up-to-date today in all its numerous types,
various heights, with and without arms, or
stacking. Its characteristic texture, in PVC
rod, is currently available in a wide range
of colours. The same applies to the stove
enamelled finish of the steel structure
which is also available in the chromed
version. Seat and back are also made in hide
or in “soft”.

paludis
The design of the Paludis chair represents a
development of the Spaghetti concept, and is
a symbolic design in the history of Alias.
With Paludis the memory of traditional
straw-seat chairs has been transformed into
a rigorous design that combines a minimal
painted or chromed metal structure with the
unusual material selected for the woven seat
and back - a special “straw” made from
recycled paper in a wide variety of colours.
This dual personality that mixes tradition
and design makes it the ideal chair to
accompany any contemporary or period style
table or interior.

segesta
selinunte
A clear, decisive shape given a lighter
touch by the opening in the back, Segesta is
not just an attractive graphic shape
transformed into a chair. It also provides
answers to some simple functional questions.
Stackable chair or chair with arms? Both,
thanks to its curvaceous design. A
comfortable chair with arms, or one that can
be pulled in close to the table? Both,
thanks to the length of its carefully
designed arms. The Segesta armchair and
Selinunte chair are part of a collection of
chairs with a techno-polymer shell and a
steel frame. Both are available with four
legs or sledge base (stackable), or with a
4-wheel or 5-wheel height-adjustable swivel
base.

taormina
tindari
This comfortable padded chair with fabric
covers in a range of colours or in leather
comes in the more formal Tindari version and
the more welcoming Taormina design, with
arms. Both are part of the same collection
of chairs based on the concept of Segesta
and Selinunte. Tindari and Taormina both
feature a padded shell made from techno
polymer with flexible polyurethane foam for
a soft seat, which has fully removable
covers. The frame is in steel, with various
finishes. Both chairs have the right form
and function for stylish interiors, whether
in the home or in contract furnishings.

atlas
The main project of this collection of
seats, tables and small tables is based on
one single concept of legs in conic steel.
Tables and small tables are developed with
the same structure, on a round or cross
base, with tops in aluminium and maple or in
laminate. Chairs and stools, with padded
seats and backs upholstered with “panno” in
a range of colours, are designed on a cross
or round base or on castors. These types,
that can be co-ordinated, furnish
auditoriums, cinemas, theatres, televisions
studios, bars and offices. But each is also
a recognisable and functional item at home.

flexus
The special features of this upholstered
furniture are the round holes in the high
back that give the idea of taking up less
space, and make the item ideal for placing
in the centre of a room. The particularly
well-designed proportions of the seat,
giving the comfort of an upholstered
armchair but with the height of an ordinary
chair, mean that Flexus can be used around a
dining-room or conference table. The
armchair and two or three-seater sofa, have
steel legs and covering in “elastico”
fabric, seat with removable cover, in a wide
range of colours. The stretch, fire
retardant techno-fabric is also available in
a range of colours suitable for public
environments and contract.

botta
Archetypal shapes in architectural geometry
inspire these historical masterpieces.
Designed by the great contemporary architect
from the Ticino for the interiors of some of
his famous buildings, they have been
classics in the Alias catalogue for some
time, ideal for creating an image in
furnishing high-class, public or private
interiors. Their main features are seats in
perforated sheet steel, or the tesi table
base in sheet metal. Robot, the chest of
drawers with the top that pulls down to form
a writing desk, is an amazing item both at
home or in the office.

TT
The shape is harmoniously
proportioned and uncomplicated with
a taut, swift line like a racing-car
spoiler. The T-shaped frame that
gave its name to this range of
padded chairs is the static linchpin
of this design. The range includes
single, 2-place and 3-place seating
without back, or with high or low
back. A rigid shell covered with
flexible density polyurethane foam
gives a soft, compact seat. Every
detail is studied so that fabric and
leather covers are completely
removable. While instantly suited to
contract furnishings, these products
(small sofas, armchairs, and padded
benches and stools) are also perfect
for contemporary domestic interiors
where functions are often combined
and transformed.

dimension of the air. Few but
balanced curves outline a
lightweight seat and strong
ensemble, created using gas moulding
technology (nitrogen). Available in
the white, metallic grey, black and
red colours, Fly is elegant,
functional and refined thanks to the
surface finishes which allow tactile
and ergonomic experiences that can
improve the performance and
versatility of use.

green
This is the outdoor collection that is so beautiful that
it would also look good in the house. It includes stacking chairs, with or
without arms, sun loungers, chaise-longues, tables and trolleys. The
structure is in brushed or stove-enamelled stainless steel. The seat and
back are in polyester mesh in a range of colours. Tables and trolleys have
tops in wired or printed glass. A recognisable feature of the collection is
also the design of the wheels, that stand out due to
their size and are based on the wheels of the trolleys used by golf caddies.

 |
teak
Teak restores to the designs of the new chairs and tables
the material and formal soul of the Setes bench, designed for public areas
as well as for private gardens and made from die-cast aluminium and teak
wood. The chairs in the Teak ensemble are practical, stackable and with a
lightweight aluminium frame, and use wood for the surfaces that design the
seat and backrest: the teak lists hollow out in the lumbar support area and
the seat, thus adding elasticity, ergonomics and comfort. The tables -
rectangular and available in two sizes - are made up of structural
components in aluminium and a top with characteristic teak lists. Resistant
over time and pleasant to the touch, they are suitable for outdoor areas of
gardens and add solidity and attention to detail to the Outdoor collections.

 |
plein air
Plein Air proposes the reassuring elements that recall
tradition, reinterpreted through innovative
forms and materials. The upholstery, a distinctive characteristic of the
chairs, transfers the indoor concepts of refinement and value outdoors.
Slender steel rods design a solid supporting frame for the seat and
backrest, upholstered in fabric treated to resist atmospheric agents and
available in the colours of cream, beige, coffee and dark brown. Plein Air
chairs furnish private terraces, outdoor areas and gardens where there is a
desire for comfort and sophistication as well as functionality and
resistance. The round tables, available in three different diameters and two
heights, are characterized by the design of the tubular steel frame, which
supports a top made of a polymer material.

frame
PVC covered polyester mesh in many colour variants on a
structure in stove enamelled aluminium, makes up the common element in the
Frame set of products. Born in 1991, with a lightweight and rigorous design,
Frame is put forward in types that have all been designed differently to
combine comfort and function. A successful project, which over the years was
often considered an icon for other collections.

segesta
selinunte
Segesta small armchairs envelop without being cumbersome
and have generous armrests which
have been created from the design of the backrest. Large, sinuous curves in
the supporting structure design the Selinunte chair with its reassuring
forms, ergonomic and practical to use. Ideal for Home and Office, Segesta
and Selinunte add practicality and identity to the Outdoor landscape, by
adorning gardens, terraces and cafés with simple shapes yet refined details.
|
 |
fly
Fly is a robust chair with varying thicknesses due to its
clever design. Created using gas moulding
technology (nitrogen), the seat and back have a glossy finish whereas the
remaining structure has a matt finish. The four different colours, white,
metallic grey, black and red, make it both elegant and refined yet
functional for Outdoor use at the same time. This is thanks to nylon
antistatic features and its ability to stack.
