Offer Profile
Kalani Robotics Team 3008 is
a student-led team founded in 2008. We have over 20 dedicated members that
come in on a regular basis and take part in the many events that we
participate in and host. In the four years Kalani Robotics has been active
as a robotics team, they have accumulated two FIRST Chairman's Awards in
Hawai'i, along with various awards including the Entrepreneurship Award and
the Judge's Award.

The Team
Kalani Robotics Team 3008 is a student-led team founded

Mission Statement
Their mission is to provide opportunities, to establish, evaluate, and
refine goals through the world of science, technology, engineering, and
math. Their mission also includes creating an environment which raises and
prepares leaders for the real world with gracious professionalism. |

Science and Technology
About FIRST
- Founded in 1989 FIRST proudly marked its 21st anniversary in 2012. FIRST
enriches the student's life in bringing FUN to Science and Engineering. It
inspires the students, school, mentors, and family.
- FIRST opens its program from Jr.FLL. The Jr.FLL program is for students from
the grades of K-3. Following this program is the FLL program rated for
grades 4-8. The level continues to rise as the students experience FTC and
FRC for grades 9-12.
- Each FIRST robotics program allows students of all age to experience the
“hardest fun”. FIRST is a non-profit organization, but attracts much
attention. More than $14 million dollars worth of scholarships are given
from over 134 providers.

- Our mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders,
by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science,
engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster
well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and
leadership.

VEX
The VEX Robotics Design System offers students
an exciting platform for learning about areas rich with career opportunities
spanning science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). These are just a
few of the many fields students can explore by creating with VEX Robotics
technology. Beyond science and engineering principles, a VEX Robotics
project encourages teamwork, leadership and problem solving among groups. It
also allows educators to easily customize projects to meet the level of
students’ abilities. The affordable VEX platform is expanding rapidly and is
now found in middle schools, high schools and university labs around the
globe.
