Remote automation
with podis®
Set your system free! Where rigid installations
formerly impeded flexible configurations, podis® now frees control cabinets
from power components for power distribution and from drive control and
monitoring. The modularly designed podis® system enables you to establish
completely new applications in remote automation.
Power and auxiliary power or the AS interface bus signal are distributed in
the field via a 7 pole flat cable. I/O modules, fieldbus interfaces and
single-phase switches at the AS interface or Profibus-DP are installed in
the required position near the consumer device without interrupting the
power bus line.
The podis® CON power bus can be combined with the podis® ELECTRONIC
interface modules to transfer not only data, but also to serially transfer
the power required for the drives from module to module. Extremely heavy
drive cables are replaced by one single power cable. This also aids
electromagnetic compatibility: the interference spectrum is omitted that
would be created within the system over several hundred meters when the
drives are switched in a central control cabinet. Induced interferences are
now limited to the connection cable from the remote motor starter to the
drive –usually only a few meters. They are omitted completely when
motor-integrated starters are involved.
Warehousing is reduced to a minimum because there are only a few different
module variations.
Benefits:
- Easy and quick installation
- Wiring errors are excluded due to coded power outputs
- Contacting without stripping the sheath or insulation
- Flexible addition of branch lines
- Connection of power outputs – pluggable or fixed
- Cable assemblies as required
- Optimal design of the power bus by means of the planning tool podis® PLAN
|

gesis® RC - building automation with radio control
Wireless is "in". In modern building automation radio
technology increasingly wins against wired signal transmission. gesis® RC
from Wieland Electric offers a complete radio-controlled system on the basis
of the EnOcean technology without batteries.
The benefits are clear: As the energy required for sending radio telegrams
is generated directly in the switch, batteries are not required. The
switches as well as all other sensors are therefore absolutely
maintenance-free. Transmission of information via radio makes cables
unnecessary. This reduces the planning effort considerably and minimizes the
installation volume. The system is put into operation without any software
and can therefore be learned within a few minutes.
Appropriate gateways are available for linking the radio sensors such as
switches to the building automation systems KNX and LON.
|
