Product Line Up
Servo and stepping motor drives

VSD-E as advanced servo drive
In the single axis servo mode, VSD-E competes with high end DSP based drives in performance and cost. The single axis mode flawlessly supports 3 phase AC/BLDC motors as well as brush DC motors and delivers the maximum obtainable control stiffness.
  • Torque/Velocity/Position control modes
  • Supports AC, DC, BLDC and Linear servo motors
  • Quadrature encoder feedback
  • Command inputs: USB, SPI, pulse/direction, quadrature, ±10V, PWM
  • Automatic internal homing controller with hard stop detection (switchless operation)
  • Soft position limits eliminating end switches
  • Velocity/acceleration ramps
  • Sinusoidal field oriented torque control
  • 12-160V motor voltage range
  • Up to 40A output peak current
  • OEM pricing
VSD-E as two-axis DC servo drive
The the dual axis DC servo mode of VSD-E is aimed for the most cost sensitive servo applications.
  • Two independent DC servo axis per one drive
  • Position control with encoder feedback
  • Command inputs: pulse/direction, digital I/O
  • 12-160V motor voltage range
  • Up to 20A output peak current
  • Settable peak and continuous current limits
  • Soft recovery from fault
  • Adjustable motor resolution setting
  • Half the cost of single axis drive
VSD-E as stepper drive
The stepping motor mode of VSD-E has been designed to be nothing short of one of the highest performing stepper drives in the existence.
  • Supports for 2 and 3 phase stepping motors
  • Very high speed and torque thanks to wide voltage range
  • Digital resonance damping eliminating instability
  • Minimized motor heating by recirculating current control
  • User settable microstepping resolution, however internally always operating at 25600 steps/rev
  • Command inputs: USB, SPI, pulse/direction, quadrature, ±10V, PWM
  • Automatic internal homing controller
  • Soft position limits
  • Velocity/acceleration ramps
  • 12-160V motor voltage range
  • Up to 10A continuous stepper current
  • OEM pricing

Custom drives
Granite Devices' core strength is an ability to design very cost efficient and reliable custom servo and stepper drives starting from 1 pcs. Customized drive solutions are possible in severals levels including:
  • Customized firmware
  • Customized hardware
  • Contract drive design
  • From 1 pcs to mass production

Why custom?

  • Best achievable performance/cost ratio in high volume
  • No compromises - always perfect match for the application
  • Simplification and miniaturization of end product
  • Unique advantages over competition

Motor drive accessories

DIN rail installation hardware
VSD-E drives and servo power supplies can be effortlessly snapped on standard DIN rail by using available mounting hardware. Available DIN rail hardware includes:
  • DIN rail adapter for VSD-E and VSD-XE
  • DIN rail adapter for Servo Power Supply (SPS)
  • DIN rail logic power supplies (12VDC)
Panel installation hardware
VSD-E series has been designed for effortless direct panel installation minimizing number of wires. Key benefits of panel installation:
  • No wiring between drive and panel needed
  • Motor and encoder connectors are brought out of box
  • Panels are 3HE 19 inch rack cabinet compatible
  • Excellent EMI shielding with metal enclosure
Servo Power Supply
SPS power supplies are optimally suited for positioning motor applications such as servo and stepper drives. They deliver high peak power capability and they can be connect in parallel to increase power range. Key features of SPS-600:
  • 600W peak output for 30 seconds
  • Up to 300W continuous output
  • Input 115/230VAC
  • Output 126VDC (nominal)
  • Can be wired parallel to multiply output power
  • Lightweight and small form factor
  • Low EMI

Motors

Brushless servo motors
BL series servo motors offer smooth operation and long life time in a compact package. Models are available from 42x42 mm to 86x86 mm covering power range of 28W to 660W.
  • Integrated 4000 counts/rev encoder as standard
  • High torque density thanks to 8 pole design
  • Maintenance free brushless design
  • Rated speed 3000 RPM
  • Easy configuration

Software

GDtool drive set-up software
The VSD-E and VSD-XE drives are effortlessly configured by using freely downloadable GDtool software. GDtool is a Windows software where all drive parameters can be easily set trough graphical user interface. Drive parametrization and servo tuning can be do done in matter of minutes with help of testing and scope view features.
  • All parameters fully graphically configurable, no jumpers or trimpots
  • Connects directly to drive through USB
  • Advanced test & tuning tools
  • Scope view to eliminate physical oscilloscope
  • Easy replication or distribution of parameters in industry use
  • Save test results & parameters for remote technical support
SimpleMotion control library
SimpleMotion is maximally simplified but still capable motion control library to control VSD-E/XE drives on PC. SimpleMotion allows implementing point-to-point positioning application with single line of code. The SimpleMotion DLL library is designed to integrate easily on most programming environments such as C, C++, C#, LabVIEW, VisualBasic and Matlab.
  • The simplest motion control interface in the world
  • No initialization code needed - connection is established when needed first time
  • Connects directly to drive through USB - no other interface hardware needed
  • Control position, velocity or torque
  • Query axis status, clear faults, enable/disable, do referencing/homing etc
  • Set and read drive parameters on the fly
  • Point-to-point motion with adjustable velocity/acceleration profile
  • No parameterization code needed - all parameters settable via GDtool
