The AIGLE story began in 1853 when the first rubber factory opened its doors in Montargis. 1855, 600 people worked there making rubber boots and shoes. 1967, AIGLE moved near to Châtellerault. 1972, AIGLE used the Munich Olympic games to launch its line of sailing footwear. 1973, AIGLE launch its “Ecuyer“ boot which was to become the world's best selling riding boot. 1989, AIGLE set out to conquer the “outdoor“ market: lifestyle concept to the 1990s. 1994, AIGLE left the Hutchinson group and was floated on the Second Market (USM) of the Paris Stock Exchange.
