Sculley Boatbuilders

Company Profile

Sculley Boatbuilders began in April 1999, with the sole intent of creating a class of sportfish boats, designed especially with the dedicated big game sport fisherman in mind. When they started the project they agreed that they would use only the latest technological advances in wood boat construction. They turned to Donald Blount, renowned naval architect to design a high performance hull capable of reaching 40 knots without sacrificing comfort in any sea condition. The result of his design, incorporated with the use of 3 layers of 9mm Okoume plywood for the hull bottom (with 3/4 oz chop strand mat saturated with epoxy in between), and 2 layers of 12mm Okoume plywood for the hull sides (with 3/4 oz chop strand mat saturated with epoxy in between), created a hull that surpassed the strength and performance of any other boat built in its class. After an extensive search to obtain the finest team of craftsmen in the United States, they recruited a group of men and women who had displayed exemplary skills in their respective specialties. They are gratified at the outstanding achievements of their team since their inception. They have without a doubt created the perfect 58' Sportfisherman.
