City of Dubai Dubai is an an ideal location for exhibitions as it is considered to be the leading exhibition venue in the Middle East. The Middle East market's potential is significant and is growing at an extremely fast rate.

Dubai's location, at the tip of the Arabian Peninsula, gives the City trade routes to over 1.5 billion customers. Products that come through Dubai are often re-exported all over the region and Dubai's port facility is the 13th largest in the world. The region has one of the worlds fastest growing populations, rising at around 4% annually. The Gulf Arab states possess over 45% of global oil wealth. With strong and developing economies, it is no surprise that there are excellent growth prospects for the marine industry in the Gulf States. There are already a good number of superb marinas and water-sports clubs and new facilities are constantly being built. Work is well underway for Dubai's most luxurious marina to date, that will, on completion, accommodate some 800 plus boats. The development is called the Westside Marina and it is being built at a staggering cost of US$4.4 billion.

This is the reason why the response to MEIBS 2001 was excellent and included nearly 15,000 visitors who were able to promote their products to a broad region.
