3D vision sensor holder with quick-change plate

Balluff one of the leading sensor specialists introduces the first 3D vision sensor holder with quick-change plate for industrial image processing. The new development, originally conceived for vision sensors, is a real multitalent, because it can also accept other sensors of similar size. To do so, you only have to exchange the sensor-specific change plate. The first holders are already being used successfully in the plants of renowned automakers.

The robust holder made of anodized aluminum has three independent axes of rotation, which can be used to set any desired solid angle andthereby precisely align the sensor. The special attraction is that the position is maintained even if the sensor is exchanged or temporarily removed from the system for a cleaning procedure, which helps minimize downtimes. It is enough to remove the sensor with the quickchange plate from the holder. If necessary, an optional safety screw can be used to offer protection from tampering; the sensor cannot be removed without an appropriate tool.

The industry-ready holder made of anodized aluminum is particularly easy and practical to operate. Thus the holder fits not only on nearly all common installation profiles, such as from item and Bosch, etc., but it can also be fastened directly to machine frames, to a worktop, or, for example, even to a pallet by means of three holes. Since the user can mount the foot, plate, and holder separately, a maximum degree of freedom is available. A particularly pleasant feature is that this holder is also still fully compatible with the universal Balluff “BMS” assembly system, with which nearly every fastening task can be flexibly solved with a few standard elements. The holder and change plate can be purchased separately from the manufacturer.

The newly developed holder is only one of many innovations for industrial image processing. In its large, well-rounded range of accessories,m therefore, Balluff also offers high-quality backlighting, spot lights, and ring illuminators; the last of these is even made of stainless steel with the IP 69K degree of protection. Also new is a vision sensor housing with the IP 67+ degree of protection for the spray water field and other difficult environments. The sensor specialist has announced a vision camera with infrared technology and a daylight filter for the second half of the year.
