UNISIGN has an extended installed base and a highly valued reputation within the Aerospace Industry. The installed base will certainly grow, with the latest developments in available machine configurations. The most important features resulting in the successes UNISIGN has attained in this area are the performance and dynamics of UNISIGN machining centres.

The revolutionary UNISIGN 25.000 min-1 is renowned in the market and the distinctive feature of UNISIGN aerospace machining centres. This spindle has a machining capacity up to an astonishing 10.000 cm3 per minute in aluminium. With a maximum power of 100 kW and a variable preload system, it is a one of a kind solution. Build in the dynamic machining centres UNIPENT, UNIPRO or UNIPORT, these machines really make the difference.

The most recent developments concentrate around the ever growing importance of the Aerospace market. At the EMO2011 in Hannover, UNISIGN introduced the UNIPRO5000. This machine results from years of experience and development in the aerospace industry. The 100 kW spindle is incorporated in a +/-15 degree tilting axis (B-axis), which is combined with a second rotating axis (A-axis) in the product and integrated in a vertical machine concept for products of up to 6 metres. The machine is therefore ideally suited for 5-axes machining of complex elongated aluminium components where high dynamics, capacity and precision are key requirements. The machine is fully enclosed with linear scales in all axes and contains a large tool storage. The UNIPRO 5000 is purposely designed to support the enormous capacity and dynamics of the machine.

General Manager of Tier1 supplier:
“Unisign has catapulted our company into the future with the delivery of highly modern and productive machine tools, ensuring our leading role In the aerospace market. Particularly the UNIPRO 5000 has given us the edge over other suppliers.“

Another perfect aerospace configuration from UNISIGN is offered via the UNIPENT4000 in an automated cell. One or more machines are integrated in a pallet changing cell that can handle unlimited number of pallets. A 6-axes robot can transfer the pallets into the machining centres. To control the complex material handling, a software solution is integrated in this robot cell, giving the operator an exact insight in the production status whenever this is needed and making sure that the machines produce continuously, without human interference. The project in the picture consists of a pallet changing system that supports two UNIPENT 4000 machining centres with pallets in the sizes 630 x 630 and 800 x 800, with a maximum weight of 1.000 kg. The set up station is located in between the two UNIPENT4000 machining centres, giving the operator an excellent view on all machining processes. The 6-axis robot is mounted on a linear track to move alongside the pallet holding area and the two machines. The customer for this project is mainly producing wing and bulkhead components.
