The Nuremberg provider of drive and automation solutions Baumüller offers fieldbus libraries to its customers, which cut down engineering time and therefore shorten time-to-market.

Baumüller wants the engineer to be as flexible as possible. This is why Baumüller strives to make its products fit for a large number of real-time Ethernet-capable fieldbuses. Besides EtherCAT, Baumüller offers the following fieldbuses as slave: VARAN, Ethernet/IP, Sercos, PROFINET, PROFIBUS, POWERLINK and CANopen.

For VARAN and soon also for other fieldbuses, among them POWERLINK and PROFINET IRT, Baumüller has now filled libraries with pre-programmed modules, which display all required movements (from Standard Motion Control to PLCopen and Coordinated Motion up to Advanced Motion as well as special functions). The modules can easily be integrated into the programming interface of the according control with the result that additional engineering is unnecessary.

Among others, the integrated modules cover functions such as data set handling, axis control, notch position search, and so on. With this development Baumüller makes its solutions compatible to other systems and thereby avoids unnecessary additional investment expenditures.
