BIG KAISER, a global leader in premium high-precision tooling systems and solutions for the metalworking industries, announced the Base Master Red, a high-precision compact touch sensor that rapidly determines workpiece offsets and tool lengths.

Part of BIG KAISER’s popular Base Master family, this new sensor’s compact design makes it very fast and easy to use, while providing extremely accurate results. For rapid reference point detection, it is fitted with a bright red LED that illuminates at exactly 50mm from the reference surface.

The Base Master Red allows the operator to quickly touch off a tool with zero risk of damage or breakage, thereby saving precious time and money. Since the body set and measuring sensor are independent of each other, maintenance becomes very easy, comprising of simply replacing the measuring sensor.

The Base Master Red can be used with all materials, including non-conductive cutting tools, workpieces and machine tools. This includes all tool materials, such as ceramic, carbide, cermet and CBN, as well as all workpiece materials, such as resin, ceramic, iron and aluminium.

Like all the devices in the Base Master family, the new sensor has a very tight repeatability of only ±0.001mm. For maximum flexibility in real world conditions, it has a solid magnetic base that mounts vertically, horizontally, or at any angle. With a battery life of 10 hours of continuous use, the sensor will not disappoint when most needed.

“The new Base Master Red is a much-demanded addition to our family of high-precision measuring devices,” says Giampaolo Roccatello, VP Sales at BIG KAISER. “We understand what machinists need to work quickly, accurately and reliably, and therefore we focus on providing top-quality tools to help them achieve the best results in the industry.”

The Base Master Red is available now.
