The latest magazine generation of BURKHARDT+WEBER: space for further 38 tools and new administration software with optimized size viewing.

The numbers of tools and the size space of the basic version have been optimized so that up to 608 tools instead of previously 570 tools can be available. The new administration software with optimized size viewing grips the tools very close and enables an availability of a maximum number of tool places. The space requirement is determined by a simple entering of the length, height and width. To achieve highest dynamic and reliability, the tool changing axis was replaced from a former belt drive to a maintenance-free gear rack drive. This new generation of tool magazine was consequently designed modularly to react more flexible to customers’ requests and to offer more options:

  • The optional tool length of 1200 mm is now possible for all machine types. +A maximum weight of 75 kgs instead of formerly 60 kgs for special tools.
  • An increase of turning moment of 120 Nm to 150 Nm for very heavy tools is available.
  • The option „Tool Data System (TDS)“ can be integrated in the tool gripper, the writing and reading of the tool data is carried out completely simultaneous to the tool movement.

The new modular tool magazine results from the consequent further development under consideration of customers’ requirements, latest demands in technology as well as feedback from users. This represents a further step for BW to fulfil almost every customer’s wish with standard options on a modular principle. First projects have already been realised with the new tool magazine.

Amongst others with a fully automatic tool supply of two machining centres by a background magazine with a capacity of 3 000 tools.
