Kuala Lumpur. The name of the capital city of Malaysia comes from the Klang and Gombak rivers. It is precisely there, at the point where the two rivers meet, that an ambitious project to recover and develop the land destined to transform the heart of the city is being carried out.

The aim of the plan, called “The River of Life”, is to reclaim the river water, making it suitable for recreational activities, and to favour the instalment of economic and business activities along the river banks.

The first essential phase of the project, which involves treating the wastewater to prevent river pollution, is in progress at the moment. The water is now being cleaned and Calpeda is participating in the project with a supply of submersible pumps.

On 20th February the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Adul Razak visited the project site, located in the centre of the capital, to see the progress being made, and announced that more than 70% of the first phase had been completed.

The program is continuing according to the established timetable, and the whole project will be completed by 2020.
