CERATIZIT now offers SX grooving system equipped with DirectCooling system

The tried-and-tested single blade SX grooving system from Cutting Solutions by CERATIZIT is now available with targeted DirectCooling (DC) thro‘ coolant. The coolant is guided through two coolant holes straight to the cutting edge. Coolant is transferred to the blade via specially developed DC clamping blocks. By using DirectCooling, machining results can be improved significantly even at the lowest pressures.

In machining applications, coolants are primarily used for cooling, lubrication and chip evacuation. Flood cooling remains the most commonly used procedure. But that said, the best cooling is of no use if the area for machining cannot be accessed. The user is confronted with this problem in particular when grooving and parting off. This is because the cutting zone is completely blocked off during the procedure by the chip above, by the cutting insert below and by the workpiece from the side. The DC-SX grooving system from Cutting Solutions by CERATIZIT makes this problem a thing of the past. The system is fitted with two precisely positioned internal coolant holes that feed the coolant to the point where it has the greatest effect – at the cutting edge itself.

This enables significantly higher cutting speeds. Since the coolant jet hits directly where the chips are formed, an ideal chip evacuation can also be achieved. The cutting-edge remains well cooled even in deep grooves and the chips are easily evacuated by the coolant. Compared with conventional cooling from the outside, the CERATIZIT system offers the advantage that chips do not get stuck and damage the cutting edge. The internal coolant also improves results by reducing the crater wear and build-up at the cutting edge.

Innovative clamping blocks with coolant connections

This provides for a universal coolant connection with innovative clamping blocks for use on the internally cooled parting blades on all commercially available machines. And a special feature: The clamping blocks from Cutting Solutions by CERATIZIT are the only ones available with a total of three connection options, ensuring maximum flexibility. Moreover, the recesses on the shank are fitted with sealing rings, meaning that the new clamping blocks can be used in square adapters for tools with thro’ coolant from other suppliers, with absolutely no leaks. The DirectCooling system can be used on almost every lathe and is perfectly suited for the manufacturing of small parts.
