DEWETRON announces the invention of the revolutionary TRIONet data acquisition system and will present it at the Sensor+Test at booth 1-116. This compact, distributable instrument accepts any two of the company’s multi-channel TRION series plug-in modules. The TRIONet connects to any Windows computer via either USB 3.0 (or USB 2.0) or Ethernet – and TRIONet mainframes can be interconnected using Ethernet.

Imagine a train testing application, where each car needs a data acquisition system to be close to the sensors, and yet it is desired to connect all of the data back to a single recording and visualization point: that’s the kind of application that TRIONet was invented for.”

Because of the Ethernet interface, TRIONet mainframes can be placed up to 100 meters apart from each other. Both star and daisychain topologies are supported, depending on the physical environment. The star topology also provides for the highest possible overall data throughput. Synchronization is achieved via a separate ethernet type cable that runs between mainframes, and the timing system within each chassis assures that data is perfectly aligned from chassis to chassis, even when the systems are separated by up to 100 meters (328 feet). Ultra-quiet, temperature controlled internal fans keep the system cool, but hardly make any noise. This is especially important when doing acoustic measurements. The system operates from 0 to +60°C (32 to 146° F), and can be operated in environments down to -20°C (-4° F) if the system is warmed up before being exposed to it. A wide range 9 to 36 VDC power input allows TRIONet to be operated from vehicle power. In addition, a worldwide compatible AC/DC adapter is included with each mainframe for operation from regular AC mains.

A small touchscreen color display shows the status, IP address, and health of the mainframe at all times, and allows basic local mainframe setup, if desired. TRIONet can be used with Windows7 or Windows10 computers, even convenient, tablet-style PCs like the Microsoft™ Surface™ can be used. Simply install the included Oxygen software, connect via USB 3.0, USB 2.0, or ethernet, and start measuring.
