Eaton’s Moeller expands its product range for sensors

As one of the leading manufacturers of components and systems for electrical engineering and automation, Eaton’s Moeller business is now offering an even more comprehensive product range in the field of sensors. The sensor offer is being enlarged with a host of inductive, capacitive, photoelectric and mechanical limit switches. Virtually all customer requirements are catered for, thanks to the large number of mounting forms and connection variants for DC and AC supplies with two or three-wire connections. Eaton Moeller now offers four sensor product series as well as extensive accessories.

The range of cylinders with diameters from 4 mm to 30 mm as well as the different rectangular sensors and the different rectangular designs cover the inductive  proximity sensors most frequently used for the industrial sector. The GLOBAL Series with IP67 protection is used where standard applications need to be implemented reliably. The products in nickel plated brass housings are available for M8, M12, M18 and M30 flush and non-flush mounting, either with NPN or PNP connections. A 360° LED indicates the output status (active, inactive). The products can be supplied with a cable or a standard M12 connector if required. The PREMIUM PLUS Series is ideal for meeting more rigorous requirements. The sensors can detect over large distances, whilst offering durability and a long service life thanks to their stainless steel housings. Sensors with a short mounting form and an angled sensor head are available in addition to the standard sizes M12 to M30. Miniature sensors with a 4 mm diameter up to size M8 and Inductive proximity sensors for industrial Automation solutions are also available.

The programmable iProx sensor is another highlight of the range. The Proxview Windows based software enables switching distance, function and the background suppression of metals to be set. The iProx sensor can be used to measure speeds or for setting customized time delays. This therefore allows users to cover a host of different applications with a single product. The rectangular types of the E52 and E 56 Series with dimensions of 40 mm to 170 mm have been added to the range. These enable the outputs to be configured automatically, according to connection type (NPN/PNP). .

Eaton Moeller also offers several product series of optoelectronic sensors for different requirements. The Comet Series integrates thrubeam or  reflective sensors (diffuse or polarized, diffuse mode sensors with or without background suppression, as well as the connection of fiber optic cables if required. A polyurethane housing with an 18 mm diameter protects the internal electronic circuitry from humidity, chemicals and vibration. To ensure a simple and flexible setup, the short-circuit-proof sensors offer visible light beams, light or dark operation as well as gain adjustment.

The E58 Harsh Duty Series with M18 or M30 stainless steel housings offers the ideal solution for applications in aggressive environments such as for high pressure or steam cleaning. The products of this series can withstand cleaning chemicals, lubricants, cutting fluids or similar substances. As with the Comet Series a wide range of functions are provided for all detection tasks.

The SM Series with TargetLockTM ensures the most convenient setup possible and is designed for optimum performance with a small size. The LED on the sensor head indicates quickly the best operating point and thus reduces lengthy installation times. The LED gives early warning of any vibration or any dust on the lens before the fault affects the entire system. The range is rounded off with capacitive sensors, as well as a complete range of mechanical limit switches and accessories.
