Halstrup-Walcher presents its new solution for positioning systems

Halstrup-walcher announces the launch of a new range of products with direct drives for automatic format changeover. These mechatronic systems with integrated control, bus interface and optional absolute measurement system (without battery) are ideal for adjusting machine axles.

The stepping motor with integrated control and bus communication provides the capability for higher speeds at low torques. This offers similar performance to servo drives with controllers and encoders – yet in a far more compact design. When developing and manufacturing electronic and software components, halstrup-walcher can draw on more than 20 years of experience in the area of positioning systems. The company also incorporates its trusted hollow shaft (optional) in the products. This can be mounted directly on the spindle without a coupling. In addition, the drives are produced in two designs that allow for horizontal and vertical installation as well. The first devices is available since early 2018 with an IO-Link interface and CANopen.
