KAISER Precision Tooling, a leader in premium high-precision tooling systems and solutions for the automotive, mil/aero, energy, medical and watch-making industries, announced its latest hydraulic chucks, HDC super slim.

The new chucks can directly clamp ultra small mills and drills, without a reduction sleeve, with a diameter as low as 3mm – the smallest size for any similar product, worldwide. The new chucks were developed for demanding finishing operations in confined areas. For clamping diameters of 3mm the external diameter of the chuck nose is only 14mm, and at a length of 90 mm the diameter is 25 mm – meaning that interference contours should no longer be a problem.

Thanks to their hydraulic clamping system with dual oil pressure points, the hydraulic chucks provide highly accurate, repeatable clamping with less than 0.0015mm (1.5 microns) variance, and runout accuracy of less than 0.003mm (3 microns) at four times diameter. This outstanding precision, in combination with rotation speeds up to 35,000rpm, helps to improve the surface finish of workpieces, as well as extending tool life.

“Where only the highest precision is good enough, KAISER’s hydraulic chucks deliver the accuracy needed,” says Peter Elmer, CEO of KAISER.

KAISER’s chucks are easy to use, with only one wrench required for clamping and unclamping. The company’s hydraulic chuck range includes clamping diameters from 3mm to 12mm as well as various projection lengths to fit nearly any application in automotive, aerospace, medical, and die and mold.

The HDC super slim are available now for machine spindles HSK-E 32/40/63 and BBT 30/40/50.
