Due to its positive corporate development, the Slovakian company Lunit s.r.o. needed a bigger storage capacity. With cantilever and pallet racks from OHRA this supplier to the furniture industry could make optimal use of its storage space.

Thanks to the simple adjustment of the individual storage levels the rack system can be easily tailored to meet changing needs. The company Lunit s.r.o. mainly supplies kitchen cabinet doors and furniture fronts in different finishes as well as custom built solutions. A wide range of furniture fittings completes the product range of the Zvolen-based company. Its products are not just supplied to companies in the furniture industry but also carpenters and cabinet makers.

Because of the continual expansion of the product range and the positive business development, in 2015 a new warehouse was needed, primarily for the storage of large-format material and worktops. Furthermore, extra capacity was needed for the storage of fittings and other material on Europallets. The Slovakian company decided to equip its new warehouse with cantilever and pallet racks from OHRA. The Kerpen-based company has specialised in rack systems for the building materials and timber industries, and is a European market leader for the supply of cantilever racks. For Lunit, an important reason for the use of racks from OHRA was the stability of the construction.

All the load-bearing components of the cantilever racks are manufactured from solid-walled, hot-rolled steel. The profiles can yield elastically in the event of collisions, thus maintaining their static properties. The stable construction enables greater storage heights and higher load bearing capacities, and thus an optimal utilisation of the available space. At Lunit the cantilever racks enable the storage of heavy wooden panels on nine levels to a height of 6,500 mm.

The cantilever arms can quickly be adjusted to the changing dimensions of the stored goods without the need for tools. The arms are located by clips, into the column which has a 100mm pitch. In the case of the pallet racks the stable construction also allows for high loads and bay widths. The frames have a 100mm pitch, so that the storage levels can be optimally adjusted to the stored goods. The beams manufactured from IPE steel profiles with welded beam connector brackets guarantee a strong connection with the rack frames. Thanks to the low number of components the racks can be quickly and simply assembled. The entire rack system was installed within two weeks following delivery.
