Multi-Contact is expanding its modular connector system CombiTac with the Last Mate First Break module CT-LMFB. The new module was presented for the first time at SPS IPC Drives in Nuremberg.

CT-LMFB was developed specifically for monitoring the connection status of electrical CombiTac contacts. Fields of application include monitoring and control functions in industry, automation, and mechanical engineering. It can be used as a high-voltage interlock loop (HVIL) to prevent unplugging under load or as a safety circuit to release the power supply. The trail module is designed for automated applications with up to 100,000 connection cycles in tough industrial environments. Guaranteed and error-free monitoring is ensured, even in the case of shocks and vibrations, in line with DIN 50467.

The CombiTac modular connector system allows the individual combination of power and control contacts, thermo-elements, and coaxial contacts, as well as fiber optic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and Ethernet contacts in a compact frame or casing. With the CombiTac Configurator, the modules can be easily selected and assembled with an application-specific connector.

The electrical contacts are based on the proven MULTILAM technology, with performance characteristics guaranteed even after 100,000 connection cycles and more. The connectors are used in automation and robotics, mechanical engineering, test applications, railway and transport technology, the automotive industry, and medical technology.
