Panasonic just showcased the GP-UH532 4K Ultra HD micro camera at the Compamed exhibition in Düsseldorf. The 4K micro camera has 3840×2160 resolution at 60p. It is capable of outputting images at up to 1600 TV lines, for smooth, detailed images and accurate colour reproduction.

The camera features various HDMI or SDI outputs and can simultaneous output at 4K and 2K. It also has the smallest 1/3 inch camera head on the market, alongside cable lengths of up to 15m. Because the micro camera complies Medical Electrical Standards IEC60601 (Medical Standard IEC60601-1 / IEC60601-1-2), it can be used in a variety of medical applications.

Patrick Linder, European Product Manager at Panasonic Industrial Medical Vision, said, “As the 4K micro camera GP-UH532 provides a 4K/2K simultaneous dual channel output, it enables customers to use 2K infrastructure that already exists,  without using a down converter  to create a 2K signal. Multiple systems can be built up and combined with the 4K micro camera GP-UH532 to create a customised solution. This simultaneous output possibility makes it a cost effective solution for a variety of applications.”

The 4K micro camera has options for colour enhancement, has the capability to zoom in to pre-selected cropping areas and has a new user-friendly layout. In addition, the camera enables up to six personal profiles to be stored on a USB memory.

“We are very much looking forward to showcasing the system at Compamed 2015,” added Margarita Zoussevitch, European Marketing Manager at Panasonic. “In addition to the 4K Ultra HD micro camera, we will also be showcasing the 3D multiview anatomy system, which is based on photographed anatomy images, including multilayer dissection, precise 3D shape reproduction and high-resolution image capturing.”
