sera introduces interface module enabling iSTEP PROFIBUS integration

The sera stepper motor pump iSTEP combines an intelligent drive concept to the accuracy of a diaphragm dosing pump to offer state oft he art technology when it comes to accuracy, versatility, ergonomics and reliability in fluid dosing. As the pump is equipped with a multilingual, intuitive menue navigation and a power supply of 110-240 V, 50/60 Hz it can be used worldwide.

The new released sera Interface Module enables the iSTEP to be integrated into a PROFIBUS system. PROFIBUS, in particular, PROFIBUS DP, is used to control and operate sensors and actuators via a centralized controller for automated manufacturing applications. Besides the various standard diagnostic options, the focus is on integrating multiple controls together.

The installation is very easy: A usually needed Y-junction is not necessary, as the sera Interface Module is equipped with a separate in- and output. Also, the included wall brackets enable module mounting adaptable to both the pump and a location elsewhere.

Pumps set up with the sera Interface Module can be controlled and managed centrally: a data transmission and parametrization of several pumps is also possible without hand-held control element. The sera Interface Module supports both standards DP-V0 and DP-V1 and thus can be used either in process and automation technology or in process engineering.

The sera Interface Module is offered as an option for every iSTEP and needless to say, it can be retrofitted as well.

„With the sera Interface Module we can meet increasing demands for future production processes: PROFIBUS connections lead to an intelligent, sustainable and especially efficient control system“, Enrico Ertle, Head of development at sera ProDos , explains. „Appropriate product adjustments will be made to utilize the sera Interface Module for further pump series.“

The advantages at a glance:

  • Central control and parametrisation of diaphragm dosing pumps
  • Standards: DP-V0 and DP-V1
  • Easy installation due to separate input and output
  • Available as an option for every iSTEP
