MS-Graessner has decades of experience in the development and production of high precision bevel gears and bevel gear transmissions, which virtually predestines MS-Graessner GmbH & Co. KG to also set new standards in the analysis and verification of transmissions. With the new SmartCheck vibration analysis, it is now possible to acquire an elegant, precision analysis with minimum effort in relation to the transmission status – and therefore, both outage and production downtime are effectively prevented. SmartCheck therefore meets Industry 4.0 objectives: Hereby, a self-optimisation of transmission is achieved by means of informatisation, and resource efficiency levels across the entire lifecycle are significantly improved.

Prevention pays off: Precise real-time monitoring

With the new SmartCheck vibration analysis including its integrated software, there is now an even more innovative yet effective tool available that generates precise statements regarding the service life of the transmission. In all respects, you are here on the safe side: Acceleration, velocity, and displacement by integration, as well as process parameters such as RPM and loads can be accurately analysed. The measurement frequency range is thereby set between 0.8 Hz and 10 kHz, while the vibration measuring range is + / – 50g. In this way, all of the relevant process parameters are recorded by means of intelligent real-time process monitoring of the diagnosis technology and set in correlation with the vibration signals. The result: complete transparency regarding the status of the transmission. Any damage to teeth and bearings are also recognised as damage caused by striking and imbalances. Therefore, the worst-case scenario – transmission failure and production downtime – can be avoided through proactive maintenance measures. Individual components, such as bearings or gearings, can be replaced in a timely manner. Even a complete gearbox replacement can be planned over the long term.

Innovative technology, simple to use

As complex as diagnostic technology is, the SmartCheck vibration analysis is so simple to use. An alarm occurs via a LED on the unit, through the PC as well as a corresponding smartphone app. As a result of this, SmartCheck can be simply integrated via both analogue and digital inputs and outputs, and requires only a minimum effort in terms of cabling. The measurement readings can be easily viewed on your PC via SmartCheck (SmartWeb and Smart Utility Light). This provides an intuitive operating concept with an automatic alarm threshold adjustment for simple use from day one.
