As Austria’s only battery producer, Banner is one of the leading international battery producers and supplies many well-known automobile manufacturers such as Audi, BMW, VW, Porsche or Mercedes with original equipment batteries. Whether in the coldest North of Scandinavia or in the heat of Africa – Banner products have established themselves. The company headquartered in the Upper Austrian Linz generated revenues of 232 million Euros in the business year 2012/2013 and employs 760 people.

The existing logistics facilities in Linz will be expanded by a new building. The aim is an extension of Banner’s storage capacity by 10,000 storage positions for car starter batteries. TGW Systems Integration implements this project with an automated high bay rack in a rack supported building. Per hour, 60 pallets can be stored and 90 retrieved.

TGW’s scope of supply includes the warehouse management system TGW Commander, material flow controls, three stacker cranes and pallet conveyor equipment. The rack supported building will include a oxygen reduction for fire prevention. Go-live is scheduled for August 2014.
