The KAM 2 hydraulic power pack makes tracking systems efficient and reliable

The new KAM 2 hydraulic power pack from HAWE Hydraulik SE, Munich, is ideally suited for tracking systems installed in solar power plants. Especially developed for short time and intermittent operations (S2 and S3), the power pack is the ideal choice for applications requiring cylinders to be extended and retracted or where a motor’s direction of rotation frequently changes. This enables tilting and tipping the solar trackers to optimally follow the course of the sun.

In its basic version, the KAM 2 comprises a tank with an integrated submerged electric motor and a sturdy gear pump. The direction of rotation changes by simple switch the phases of the electric motor, thereby also changing the flow direction. This means in turn that applications with just one consumer do not require a directional control valve. It makes the normally required solenoid connection plus installation work obsolete and simultaneously reduces the power pack’s power consumption. A valve switch can be deployed if multiple consumers are to be activated. 8 Watt magnets are used to keep energy consumption as low as possible.

The KAM 2 power pack can generate flows of up to 12 lpm at up to 150 bar and an usable oil volume of 10 liters. Its compact dimensions allow it to be easily integrated or added to the tracker. The power pack can be installed both horizontally or vertically.

The optional silica gel filter protects the hydraulic system against moisture in the hydraulic oil.
