Recently Vnukovo Airport decided to extend its service agreement with Vanderlande Industries with one year. For the last three years Vanderlande has performed the maintenance of the baggage handling system in Terminal A, the airport’s main terminal, with a team of professionals.

Handling over 11 million passengers per year, Vnukovo airport sees the biggest growth of all airports in Russia. Along with that, it needs to keep up with the ever increasing demands of passengers, while being in fierce competition with the other two (bigger) Moscow airports. Being the first state-owned Moscow airport that is up for privatization, the services the airport provides need to be at the highest standards. For this reason the excellent O&M services from Vanderlande are preferred by the Vnukovo organization.

Mr. Dmitriy Gorozhanov, head of baggage handling department at Vnukovo airport stated: “At Vnukovo Airport we are very satisfied with the outstanding services Vanderlande offers to keep our baggage system at the highest levels of efficiency and availability.”

Mr Govert Hamers, CEO at Vanderlande Industries commented: “With this extension of the contract we look forward to further maintaining, developing and improving our very strong relation with Vnukovo airport, bringing them the competitive advantage needed to realize their ambitious plans.”

The scope of the contract comprises:
• 24-7 operations and maintenance services including spare parts management and corrective and preventive maintenance
• Process and system improvement, minimizing risks and ensuring the baggage system’s performance constantly matches the airport’s requirements
• Services for the optimization of the underlying logistics processes and operator–system interactions
