At the traditional Swiss company Stoll Giroflex AG, on the other hand, sustainability is the philosophy it has practised for years on a daily basis, and is also reflected in the office chairs developed by Giroflex. In ecological aspects in particular, the company has long relied on intelligent, sparing and economical use of resources. Mono-material in the 80s already. Sustainability began in the early 80s already with the introduction of the mono-material separation of chairs. On the basis of figures from the year 2007, in 2008 Giroflex commissioned a CO2 balance sheet of its entire operations. myclimate, a Swiss climate protection foundation, was chosen as the partner for this. On the basis of this CO2 balance sheet, in the last eight months Giroflex implemented measures aimed at further reducing emissions of climate-damaging CO2. Another result of the CO2 balance sheet is that, if customers wish, Giroflex can also supply its chairs with the label "climate-neutral". Giroflex has already taken numerous steps towards sustainability. „Cradle to Cradle“ - giroflex 656 The giroflex 656 series is „Cradle to Cradle“ certified. That means that giroflex 656 is from A to Z, designed to keep the parts in a closed technical cycle, from the castors through the synchronized mechanism to the gas spring. The chairs are easy to disassemble and – except for the foam in seat and backrest upholstery – completely recyclable. Giroflex carries out mono-material separation of all parts to keep the quality of the valuable raw materials high and to be able to use them again – a steel tube becomes a steel tube again. This series is a good example of how resources are used intelligently, carefully and sparingly in the production cycle.
