The Saint James Company has been established in Lower Normandy in the town of Saint-James, near Mont Saint-Michel, since 1889.
Its fame was built on a leading product know as "the genuine nautical Breton sweater knitted in pure new wool", made in the beginning for the fishermen at sea, and later on worn by great sailors as well as yachtsmen and tourists.
Its "seashore" lines, in Pure Wool and Pure Cotton, appeal to-day to a greater and more diversified number of customers on the coast, but also in the major French cities, in Europe, the United States, Canada and Japan.
