Optima Chartering (the company's maiden name) was incorporated in 1981 as a pure dry cargo shipbroking company and since its establishment has gradually grown into one of the largest companies in the chartering market of Piraeus.

Optima expanded its activities in 1996 by starting up a sale & purchase department, with a view of providing a more complete service to its customers.

In this respect, the new name of Optima Shipbrokers was created in order to reflect the wider scope of activities which the company was now involved in.

Optima is today manned by 11 dry cargo brokers, 6 sale & purchase brokers, as well as an extensive backup team of post-fixing, accounting and administration personnel.
