From the very beginning, the Czech company TeST has been focused to design, development and manufacturing of ultralight sailplanes, UL motorized sailplanes and UL powered aircraft. The real sales confirmed the original anticipation: most of these products were gliders, both in motorless and in the powered alternative.
Here we can put a general question, why just UL gliders are in the center of our care, attention and effort.... The top world manufacturers design new types in particular for categories, flown on countries, continent and world championships. The newest knowledge of aerodynamics are introduced, what require often new or perfected production technologies resulting into high costs and prices. Hereat just a few glider pilots addict themselves to competition flying, where their performance and positioning depend on the possibility to acquire the high-tech gliders. The great majority of pilots flying both in aeroclubs and individually do not require such a top technique, very expensive in acquisition and in operational costs. To satisfy their needs, low-budget but still adequate performance giving aircraft are desired. And this is the main field for TeST.
From the technical point of view, our products are designed to comply with existing and expected rules and standards, both in the light glider category (MTOW 220 kg) and general UL category (MTOW 300 kg at one-seaters or 450 kg at two-seaters). The stall speed is always below the 65 km/h limit. Often also higher standards are applied (JAR-22). While developing our airplanes, TeST tightly cooperates with experts both from technical universities and LAA (Czech UL association) to emphasize the interest to construct airplanes of high quality and safety.
Summarized, objectives of the company TeST can be declared as follows:
