Company Profile

(1)Company Activities:
The B&F Technik Vertriebs GmbH company is active in the field of civil aviation. It concentrates on the development, sale and maintenance of motor-driven lightweight aircraft. Its partner company in Poland supplies the main frames of the B&F–designed aircraft, whereas final assembly and quality assurance are carried out in the headquarters in Speyer. As the production of sport planes is carried out in a relatively small series and the planes are also 100% hand-made, this division of labor is exemplary for the sector. The manufactured products are delivered not only within Germany but also to five further European countries as well as many other companies all over the world. The export figures for the past three years show a continuous growth of sales.

(2) Company History:
B&F was founded in 1990 by managing shareholders Dirk Breitkreuz and Peter Funk. Headquarters at this time were in Hofheim / Taunus. Both partners were students until 1995, so that in the first three years only small numbers of planes went into production. When Dirk Breitkreuz left the company in 1995, the headquarters were moved to Speyer. Here it was possible to rent premises in the DASA plant so that the company was located at only a short distance from the airport in Speyer. At first, the FK 9 plane developed by Otto und Peter Funk was produced and sold. In the meantime, this plane has become one of the most widely sold light aircraft in Germany and Europe. Since 1997, another model, the FK 12, has been in serial production and in 1999, the FK14 model was added.

(3) The Current Company Structure:
In the airframe manufacturing plant, a qualified staff of 45 people presently works on the production of 4-5 machines per month. Both plant and staff are certified and profit from their long years of experience in the maintenance and production of motorized aircraft and gliders. All materials used in production are purchased in Germany and meet the requirements of the German aviation standard.
Seven members of staff are busy in the Speyer headquarters taking care of final assembly, fittings, quality assurance as well as delivery and customer services.
