MLR Electronique was created in 1980. In its first years of existence, the company developed a variety of products for the radio positioning systems then commonly used (TORAN - RANA - LORAN C). MLR started designing its first GPS receivers in the early 1990's. Today its GPS receivers are sold worldwide. Through its acquisition by THALES Navigation in May 2000 (DSNP is the European leader in high-precision GPS systems), MLR is now a subsidiary of Thales (new name of Thomson-CSF) as part of its Industrial Electronics Group for civil activities.
