80 years Wellis

1927
is the year in which Orgelbau AG is founded in Willisau. Albert Babst enters the company in 1931 as an apprentice. 1931 sees the foundation of Wellis AG, which takes over the kitchen furniture manufacturing division of Orgelbau AG.

1941
Albert Babst becomes Managing Director of Möbelfabrik Wellis AG, which produces conventional but technically high-grade furniture.

1956
Initial design attempts in home furniture production.

1976
The sons, Kurt and Egon Babst, take over the management.

1986
Team Möbel becomes a subsidiary of Wellis AG.

1988
Introduction of the Team by Wellis brand.

1992
Expansion into the European markets.

1998
Launch of e_series Container, which led to the international breakthrough in the field of recognised designer furniture.

1999
Launch of Volare, which set a milestone in innovative product design.

2007
Management is transferred to a team independent of the owner.
