In 1926 the brothers Carl and Wilhelm Berges founded the firm C & W BERGES in Marienheide (Germany). The company initially concentrated on the manufacture of presses and stamping machines for metals and plastic processing. But as early as the 1940s the original range of products expanded to include infinitely variable mechanical drive technology. This laid the foundation stone for the company's present orientation.
At the beginning of the 1980s the plastic processing machines division was sold to one of the world's leading manufacturers. The road was clear for us to concentrate all our efforts even further on infinitely variable drive systems. As early as the middle of the 1970s electronically controlled drive systems have been manufactured in Naturns. This le to the founding in 1983 of an independent company, BERGES electronic with offices in Naturns (Italy) and Marienheide (Germany).
