Bigagli's has been established in 1901 in Prato which is considered the textile centre with the highest concentration of wool industry in the world. Bigagli has always been a company totally private and it belongs to Bigagli’s family of Prato. The factory, divided in three buildings of over 7,000 sq/mt, extendes on a covered area of about 20,000 sq/mt and it includes also a show-room destined to spinning trials and technical research for new solutions.
The complete employed staff, including also the managing one, is 50 people but we must consider also 20 more people, technicians, designers and also skilled workers who work in specialized companies of services sector. Bigagli's has always operated in the field of textile machines even if until the end of 40's the production range included also agricultural machines and other various devices.
Immediately after the war, Bigagli's gave a strong contribute in the restarting of working activities of the textile mills, enganging itself in the production of a wide range of machines and this prevented Italian spinners from buying foreign machinery and distracting the precious human and financial resources from the reconstruction of their own mills simply because bearing heavy payments in foreign currency.

- wool washing - preparation of fibres for the carding

- raising
- material baling
