Ever since the company's foundation by Paolo Vitelli in 1969, AZIMUT has dedicated its efforts to acquire an unique expertise in the design and construction of fiberglass boats. In 1974 this dedication began to pay off, with the introduction of AZIMUT own range of 11 to 16 metre craft. In 1985, AZIMUT acquired the prestigious Benetti shipyards in Viareggio, and the know-how to build quality steel-hulled yachts over 40 metres in lenght.
