Company Profile

Company Eric PETTER went to the south of France to concretize his old dream. After being skipper and reporter for sailing magazines, he started to build boats, and the company has specialized in the construction of high performance catamarans fitted out for dwelling. The boatyard is situated at Port de Bouc, in the northeast center of the Mediterranean Sea. A private gate (dock?) is in front of their building to welcome boats for repairs or visitors. Facade Company history The 15th of March 1993, the company was created with a capital of 40 000 Euros. The head quarter and production site was situated in Martigues, Technopole de Caronte, where they built the Orion 46 (monohull). The factory’s floorage was about 500 m˛. During 1994-96 sailing boats and passenger transporters were built. The team was composed of 3 or 4 workers. During 1997 the PETTER 55 was built in a new building in Port de Bouc, at about 40 km from Marseille. This catamaran received good critics by the Sailing magazines. The team went from 7 to 18 People. In 1997 the capital grew to 254 000 Euros. The number of employees stabilized at 20. They are presently building the PETTER 78 prototype. Petter also started building the TRANSAT 65, a powercat that will be able to make up to 2000 nautical miles at the speed of up to 18 knots. Both boats are designed by Gilles VATON, a boat architect famous for designing fast boats.
