The Hong Kong Shipyard Limited (HKS), incorporated in 1948, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Ferry (Holdings) Co. Ltd. The shipyard is located at North Tsing Yi, Hong Kong, with a total site area of 18,700 square metres, including a 4-storey high administrative building and workshops, with a full time direct workforce of more than hundred and forty strong.
We own the largest and most advanced Syncrolift facility (90m x 20m) in Hong Kong. The Syncrolift has a lifting capacity up to 3,400 tonnes for various types of ships including ferries, work boats, and pleasure crafts. With the flexible ship transfer system, it can drydock ten vessels simultaneously.
We also undertake a wide range of ship repairs and maintenance works and offers 24 hours emergency services. In 1999, we had over five hundred service counts for project size of big and small.
Our major clients include New World First Ferry fleet, Hongkong & Yaumati Ferry fleet, Discovery Bay fleet, Chu Kong Shipping's catamarans, Marine Police launches, South China Towing boats, Government Dockyard, and a variety of work-boats and megayachts.
