Storebro Bruks Ab located in south eastern Sweden has been building motor yachts to very high standards since 1945.
Over 10.000 boats have been delivered since the boat yard was started.
Storebro Bruks AB was founded already in 1728 as an iron foundry. In the 19th century the company developed and started building industrial machine tools; lathes, milling machines and drilling machines.
Boat building was started 1945. A group of Estonian refugees, boat builders since several generations, had landed on the Swedish east coast. They were offered work at Storebro Bruks AB. Before long their boat building background became known to the owner of Storebro Bruks AB, Ivar Gustavsson as he saw them building boats on their time of from work. He decided to make use of their original craftsmanship and soon he arranged for a boat yard manager from a well known Swedish boat building family to come to Storebro. His mission was to organize and head a boat yard and boat production with the Estonian boat builders there.
Today, Storebro boats are sailing all waters of the world and Storebro have a well established reputation for building boats to the highest standards.
First class materials, excellent workmanship, skills and knowledge of boat building inherited and developed over many generations are corner stones.
Storebro is one of few boat yards in the world with a boat building school located next to the production facilities.
Storebro not only build pleasure yachts but are also involved in building small patrol boats on special order for commercial use with customers among Navies, Coast Guards, Police, Customs etc.
Storebro is for many boat lovers all over the world synonymous with elegant, strong, well built and sea worthy boats with beautifully crafted and finished mahogany interiors. Technical installations are well appointed, reliable and easy to service. Storebro´s electric systems have often been used as good examples.
