Nautor's Swan was founded in Finland in 1966. From its early days, the company acquired a global reputation as builder of luxury sailing yachts of outstanding performance on the race course. To this day Swan Yachts, Nautor's yacht brand, are considered the ultimate ocean-going, performance, luxury sailing yacht of unrivalled build quality. Swan Yachts are built by Oy Nautor Ab. This Finnish company is located some 500km north of Helsinki and 400km south of the Arctic Circle on the Gulf of Bothnia.
The region has a strong ship and boat building tradition stretching back over 400 years, which the 400 staff at Nautor are proudly continuing today.
Oy Nautor Ab was founded in 1966 by Pekka Koskenkylä. Pekka Koskenkylä's plan was to build the first 10m yacht using a fibre glass mould. His concept was a design capable of both cruising and racing. Series production was considered key to the success of the venture. Precise, logistical organisation was paramount at an early stage
