The origins of the subtle lines that identify all Apreamare vessels are lost in the distant mists of time. Boats with similar form - over two thousand years old - have been excavated from the volcanic ash of Mt. Vesuvius. Just miles from these famed archaeological sites, in the seaside town of Sorrento, the Aprea family has been taking the best traditional designs, materials and craftsmanship and updating them with the very latest technology. The result is a series of graceful vessels, of strikingly evident quality, that blend the practical and aesthetic properties of centuries-old craft with the sea-keeping abilities, speed and safety required today. Painstakingly hand-built by master shipwrights, the mahogany trimmed teak decks and cherry interiors are done in curvaceous, modified vees, creating lines of legendary distinction. Hand-laid solid fiberglass hulls come to, and hold, plane effortlessly. Vast quantities of stainless steel are bent and forged and select hardwoods are joined to ensure that these graceful vessels weather the passage of time like fine wines. The Aprea family, employing artisans in the European tradition of master and apprentice, lavishes three months of care and attention on each vessel's construction. Due to this diligence, availability is limited, but certainly worth any unavoidable wait.
